We covered the general settings part in our earlier post which discussed the cart reminder emails, tracking setting for abandoned carts, tracking of coupon codes and plugin options. In this post, we will see what are the other settings of Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce plugin. There are 2 other settings which are provided in this plugin which will show options for sending email reminders and restriction settings of abandoned cart.

Email Sending Settings
As you can see in the above image, there are 2 options under Email Sending Settings.
Send Abandoned cart emails automatically using WP Cron: This setting will enable you to send abandoned cart reminder emails automatically to the customers whose carts are abandoned after a set time.
Now you would want to know what is WP-Cron and its function?
WordPress uses WP-CRON as a virtual cron job. It is used to schedule tasks in order to automate actions like publishing scheduled posts, checking for plugin or theme updates, sending email notifications and more. By default WordPress is setup to call WP-CRON every time someone visits your WordPress website when a scheduled task is present to basically check whether it’s time to do anything yet.
If you disable the ‘Send Abandoned cart emails automatically using WP Cron’setting then reminder emails will not be sent automatically instead you will have to set the cron job manually for all abandoned cart emails.

Run Automated WP Cron after X minutes: This option helps you to set the time after which a cron job will run automatically and the abandoned cart reminder emails which are to be sent will be sent automatically. This is the time which has to be set first for automatically sending the reminder emails.
Restriction Settings
Restriction Settings are mainly for restricting capturing of abandoned carts for specific customers and can be set according to the requirements. This will help you to avoid SPAM and BOT issues that affect the site which has been a major issue with the online merchants. Hence this provision is given especially to restrict such actions.
Do not capture abandoned carts for these IP addresses: If you enable this setting then the carts which are abandoned by the customers with the mentioned IP addresses will not be captured. Hence there won’t be any reminder emails also sent to these customers as their carts won’t be captured.
Do not capture abandoned carts for these email addresses: This option if enabled will allow you to stop capturing abandoned carts of customers with the mentioned email addresses. So for instance, there can be a case when you know specific customers who have never come back by clicking on the checkout link from the reminder emails. Thus after knowing the behavioral pattern of such customers, you can decide to block capturing their abandoned carts for sending reminder emails.
Do not capture abandoned carts for email addresses from these domains: This option allows you to stop capturing abandoned carts in abundance. Enabling this option will allow you to make specific choices for not capturing certain abandoned carts from the mentioned domains. For example, you enter domain name ‘hotmail.com’ or ‘yahoo.co.in’ etc in the field, then all the abandoned carts of customers whose email addresses have domain name either hotmail.com or yahoo.co.in will not be captured.
